Presentation copy inscribed and signed by Thomas B. Harned, Henry L. Bonsall, and Geoffrey Buckwalter to William H. Kelter. These men headed the committee that organized the 70th birthday dinner. Harned was first to speak after Whitman, Bonsall read a poem, and Buckwalter read the letters of regret of those who could not attend, including Twain’s long letter appearing at pp. 64-65.
